Meet Price

Hello Neighbor!

My name is Price Johnson (better known as “Mr. Price” or “Board Game Guy” by the families of Rocklin Elementary) and I am running for Rocklin Unified School Board Trustee of Area 1.

When my family and I sold our starter home of ten years in Sacramento and moved to Rocklin, a quality public education for our two children was at the top of our minds. Rocklin, with its award-winning public school system, was an easy choice.

I am a firm believer in public education and the bedrock it provides our community, economy, and neighborhoods. When we invest in our public schools by hiring teachers of the highest caliber, making quality curriculum accessible to every child in our community, and ensuring our schools are respectful places where students feel empowered to learn, we are investing in better futures for every one of our neighbors and ourselves.

In the years since my children started school, I have embraced daily classroom volunteering, a role as Site Council Representative, Parent-Teacher Association Board membership, student club sponsorship, campus fundraising, field trip chaperoning, and regular School Board meeting attendance. I take great pride and joy in digging in and making our school all it can be, and I see the tireless efforts of so many parents like me across the district who want the absolute best for the students of Rocklin.

My professional background began in retail & warehouse management, followed by a ten-year career with two local credit unions. SAFE Credit Union taught me how fundamental financial literacy, community outreach, and public service are for our community’s bottom line.

At Schools Financial Credit Union, I served a specialized membership base of teachers and their families throughout California and the United States. As an operations manager of two separate, highly trained departments, I learned the value of trusting experts, supporting hard work, leveraging strengths and weaknesses, and thinking outside the box to achieve goals with limited resources. They also had a phenomenal “Babies in the Workplace” program that allowed this proud dad to bring each of his two kids to work on a daily basis until they were six months old–memories I will treasure my entire life.

For the last seven years, I have been at the steering wheel of Cephalofair Games, a board game publishing company in the crowdfunding, toy, & hobby industries. Our company has raised over $20M in crowdfunding to create a product and brand that has seen success and publication around the world, and multiple forms of media in over a dozen languages, all while forming meaningful relationships with partners and international companies. Having played a guiding role in it’s business development, project management, marketing, legal compliance, contracting, employment, HR, fundraising, sales, production, and more, I am so proud of what my team has and continues to accomplish.

It has been an absolute privilege to incorporate my background and skills into helping a small start-up company grow to an internationally recognized and respected brand. Building relationships and finding experts to consult on every part of what we do has been vital to our success. Supporting transparency and communication with our investor base of over 80,000 individual “backers” through problems and pandemics has been paramount, even when difficult or uncomfortable.

I now have an opportunity to represent Rocklin as a School Board Trustee–a role that directly supports the tireless work and well-earned reputation of the Rocklin Unified School District and the families it serves. This job, too, entails building relationships within the community and consulting with experts to keep the work of the district on track. The experts in this regard are parents, teachers, administrators, and students themselves–these essential voices must be heard at every step.

I am a firm believer in public education and the bedrock it provides our community, economy, and neighborhoods. When we invest in our public schools by hiring teachers of the highest caliber, making quality curriculum accessible to every child in our community, and ensuring our students feel respected and empowered to learn, we are investing in better futures for every one of our neighbors and ourselves.

I am honored to be running for Rocklin Unified School District Trustee for Area 1 and am excited for the opportunity to serve my community in this way. I pledge to bring accessibility, transparency, and accountability to this work.

Please vote for “Mr. Price” Johnson as School Board Trustee for Area 1 this November.

Thank you!
